The wonder of existence; the beauty of nature; the timelessness of natural beauty.
My view of the cosmos comes from believing that we are all inextricably part of nature. Nature reflects our true being. Natural beauty permeates plants, rocks, animals, earth, sky, human beings. Nature shapes my view of form and beauty.
I use photography as a medium to isolate, describe and share natural beauty.
Wherever I am, I listen to my environment. Something speaks to me – color, tone, shape, light – I respond emotionally. I extract form from nature, and I also look for natural form in the human environment. Seeing nature I attempt to capture its spirit; its essence. Looking at the human environment, I try to compose a beautiful extraction.
The possible views are infinite; my work represents a one-at-a-time translation of an altogether-at-once universe. Minute pieces in splendid isolation. Scale is often deliberately ambiguous, and what is in front of the lens may be hard to name.
